She was a bit wishy washy when it came to how she felt/acted with Jonah. Because of her upbringing and now the trauma of her kidnapping, Elle is pretty prickly around new people. Elle’s life with her mother is so out of the norm that it’s a bit scary. Overall I enjoyed this quick read, Jonah was pretty sweet, well, after he warms up to Elle and he was able to be himself around her and drop the act. Note: This book is the first in a series of stand-alone, romantic suspense, new adult novels involving sexy bodyguards and the coeds they protect. But every once in a while I see a flash of fear and vulnerability that make all my protective instincts flare.īecause they never caught her kidnapper.
